For nigh on a century, there was a wood to ward. Word was bond, life the way it was meant to be. When tragedy struck, a lone man went out into the world to do what none else would. This new world was not one which he knew how to live in. The years passed in a grueling, merciless turn, with many worse than the last. Hatred swelled.In the fifteenth century of the Sixth Astral Era, all that loathing was given place and purpose. The promise of another man's suffering ignited something adjacent to hope, or so they think.To this day, he remains true to his roots, maintaining aspects of a past and identity stolen by time and exile.The Wood doesn't whisper to him anymore. Appearance.
A tall man whose face is so often marked with bruises that others learn to recognize him by their presence.Whether swelled shut, surrounded by lesions or on the mend, his gaze is hard and fell, betraying too many years lived in spite of an ageless face. The years and the things he's seen have made him tired; cheerless and stagnant.The rest of him is marked with lean, corded muscle, all wound up for ease of leaping. For a man that ought to have retired from fighting in favor of a life of business and travel, he has the look of a killer.Personality.
Andrean once said, eyes misted over with opium and drink, that he wanted to forget. The world changed, but he did not. The weight of years bears down on him with a silent pressure as mighty as the ocean's, trying to make a pearl out of a man, only to pulp his organs instead.He weathers it all; pain, hatred, rage, grief, resentment, for a silly child with ears they've yet to grow into (one of which flops and thus never fails to attract a flick), for a man living two lives that looks at him with stars in his eyes (who deserves better, he thinks, not that the man in question agrees), for a woman who shakes with fear and hate when someone looks at her wrong and will stab someone over it (she's right, really, and ought to keep a pistol in her nightstand), for two young and overly adventurous children he met a few times and then never again.For countless of his lost, displaced people, most of which he would never have met had he made another choice, he'd do anything.Which isn't a virtue, exactly.

In the world of commerce and transport, 'Captain Lackland' has been known to be something of a daredevil smuggler for well over a decade. His work varies; selling news to merchants, delivering wares both legal and non across borders as well as dealing weapons. Most recently, his name is associated extensively with the Almasi Consortium of Ul'dah.Dealings in Dalmasca.
During the rebellion, he smuggled civilians across Garlean-controlled territory and delivered weapons or explosives to the Dalmascan Resistance. Some time before the razing of Rabanastre, he left the cold war behind to travel to Sharlayan, but not before leaving blood and death behind. Rumors of a paramour, madness, hatred and revenge abound.Resettler.
Thanks to his ship, Andrean has resettled a number of Viera over the years, offering fellow others financial support as well as resettlement aid. More recently, he's helped resettle Garlean refugees.Gleaner.
Academics and researchers of the arcane might be familiar with his name thanks to his contributions to the archives. Some claim that number of the things he's brought back were condemned to Archon-restricted areas.
